How we install our ultrafast full fibre broadband

Whether it’s for your home or business, you’ll want your new broadband installed with minimal disruption. Here’s a simple guide to our installation process.

Residential Installation

Whilst this will vary for every home, the work will take place in two stages, on different days. The first stage is to do the work outside to get the fibre cable to your home. The second stage is to get the cable into your home, install your router, get you connected and make sure everything is working as expected.

The first stage is for us to do the work outside to get the fibre cable to your home. This will include fitting a small box to the outside wall of your home, usually at about knee height. You don’t usually need to be at home when we carry out this work, but we will still let you know when we are coming. We may identify additional work that will be required to get the fibre cable to your home, but we will discuss this with you before we carry out any work.

With every home being different, we will discuss where best to place the router in your home. We will then drill a small hole through the wall so we can connect the fibre cable to your router. We will always do this as discreetly and practically as possible.

We will connect your router, explain how it works and check the property for wi-fi coverage. If your home has any wi-fi coverage issues, we may recommend an extender and can often install these at the same time.

We will contact you shortly after your installation to check everything is working to your satisfaction and send you a quick survey to complete. For more information our customer welcome pack has lots of handy information, which you’ll receive via email, you can also download a copy here.

When you’re connected to the Jurassic Fibre network, our expert team of engineers will monitor the network’s performance 24/7, so in the rare event that there is an issue, we can put it right as quickly as possible. Most of the time you won’t even notice.

Business Installation

Recognising that every business is different and to make sure your installation is as seamless and fuss free as possible, we will arrange to carry out an on-site survey to understand what work is required to get the fibre cable to your premises and also to agree where to install the router. We will then explain and get your agreement to the installation plan before undertaking any works.

We will agree a convenient appointment date with you to do the work outside to get the fibre cable to your premises. This will include fitting a small box to the outside of the property.

Having agreed an installation date with you, we will drill a small hole through the wall so we can connect the fibre cable to your router and install the network into your property. We will always do this as discretely and practically as possible.

We will connect and then activate your router, ensuring our service is delivering as promised.
