The tech powering our network

We are building a state-of-the-art fibre network that takes ultrafast broadband straight to your door. But how exactly does Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) work?

What is FTTP?

FTTP is a broadband service that connects fibre-optic cables directly to your home or business.

Wave goodbye to outdated copper cables and sharing that ‘green box’ with the neighbours. With FTTP, the internet connection will come right to your door, bringing buffer-free bliss to every room.

What we do…

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

Fibre cables run straight to your door from the exchange, delivering higher download speeds and faster connections.

What others do…

Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC)

Fibre cable runs from the exchange to a cabinet, but only copper cables run from the cabinet to your home or business.

How do we get the fibre to you?

Providing your home or business is in a serviceable area, we’ll figure out the best way to bring the fibre directly to your door. We usually place our fibre below electricity cables or using whatever existing infrastructure you have available to you.

The stuff that matters

That’s the technical detail done and dusted. Here’s what it means for you.

Very low latency

Our network can process a huge amount of data. This means you’ll enjoy uninterrupted gaming, streaming and video calls without losing speed.

World-class technology

We have invested £250m in our tech and infrastructure and partnered with the world’s largest IT company to deliver the best ultrafast broadband.

Speeds that scale

Whether you’re a tech-hungry household or digital-dependent business, our ultrafast fibre network can handle it all.
